Shirt Design
Big Island Coffee Roasters enlisted me to create a shirt design inspired by a vintage 1981 Kona Coffee Festival pin. The idea was to marry Big Island Coffee Roaster’s brand with a retro rainbow vibe.
I modernized the concept and included the recognizable pig iconography that Big Island Coffee Roasters uses across their brand. How cute is that french press backpack! I anchored the design with a few colors from the BICR branding palette and added a couple to convey the retro vibe. Now the design feels special while still fitting in with the other products for sale.
The coffee cherries show the three stages of ripeness: green, yellow, and red. The coffee tree blossoms on the left side of the rainbow spouting from the coffee vessel.
